Road Traffic Accident Claims

According to government data, the UK reported over 330,000 road traffic accidents in 2022 which equates to around 900 accidents a day!

Accidents happen frequently on the road and if you, or a loved have been involved in an accident as a driver or passenger of a vehicle, the rider or pillion of a motorbike or scooter, or as a pedestrian or cyclist, you could be entitled to make a claim for compensation for any injuries you’ve sustained.

Our Panel

Legal Assist gives you access to a skilled panel of personal injury solicitors which are specialists in road traffic accident cases involving vehicles, bikes and vulnerable road users. Our panel members have over 100 years combined legal experience and have helped thousands of claimants get the compensation they are entitled to.

No win No fee

Our panel solicitors can handle your case on a no win, no fee basis which means there’s nothing to pay upfront and nothing to pay if your case is unsuccessful.

If your case is successful, our panel solicitors take between 25%- 50% from your awarded compensation. This varies amongst our panel members and will be dependent on the law firm we recommend you to as well as your claim type.

Full terms & conditions will be included in your solicitor’s agreement so please read this carefully and speak to them if you are unsure of anything before signing. For more information, please visit our No win No fee page.

If you have been involved in a road accident which was not your fault, we can take an overview of your case and pair you with one of our panel members which can offer you their services on a No win no fee basis. They will aim to recover:

  • Compensation for any physical and psychological injuries sustained.
  • Financial costs for medical and treatment or surgery required.
  • Loss of earnings (time of work)

If your injuries are serious or significant in nature or have resulted in the death of a loved one, they will also aim to recover:

  • Family member costs for caring for you whilst you recover.
  • Interim payments to cover living expenses whilst you wait for your compensation.
  • Any medical equipment that you need as a result of your injury such as a wheelchair, hearing aids, mouth retainers. They will also factor in if you need replacements at a later stage in life.

Please note: You do not need to use a claims management company to make a claim for compensation. You can use a solicitor or company of your own choice or alternatively you can make a claim yourself for free via the person/entity you wish to claim from or via the relevant ombudsman service. Motorbike Injury Claims

Motorcyclists & scooter riders have a higher risk of being seriously injured following an accident. They are vulnerable road users which don’t have the luxury of a seatbelt or a vehicle to protect them, leaving them fully exposed to an impact.

This can result in the rider coming off the bike and in worst cases, being hurled through the air and landing on the ground or a car bonnet. Sometimes the momentum can leave them scraping along the floor for a considerable distance. This is why collisions on a motorcycle can result in serious catastrophic injuries, or even worse, death.

Legal Assist has a specialist panel of motorcycle injury lawyers that are dedicated to helping injured claimants and bereaved family members receive the compensation they are entitled to.

Motorcycle Injuries

Bike injuries vary in severity dependant on the accident. Our panel solicitors have dealt with a wide variety of injuries which include but are not limited to:

  • Soft tissue injuries – bruising, tenderness, sprains, ruptures and tears in the muscles and ligaments)
  • Lacerations – cuts, grazes or piercing of the skin
  • Broken or fractured bones
  • Psychological trauma – Loss of confidence, fearful, anxious, PTSD
  • Scarring, discolouration or disfigurement of the skin or body
  • Crushed body parts
  • Head trauma injury – bleeding on the brain, concussion, memory problems, loss of sensation , taste, smell, hearing loss
  • Spinal injury – Extreme pain, weakness, loss of movement, sensation or reflexes, losing the ability to walk, balance problems, numbness & tingling.
  • Loss of limbs

  • Death

Pedestrian and Cyclist Injury Claims

Road traffic accidents often feature innocent pedestrians walking by and have been involved in a collision with a vehicle. It could have been whilst crossing the road, at a pedestrian crossing or whilst on the pavement.

Cyclists are often hit whilst travelling in a cycle lane, turning at junctions or whilst proceeding correctly and a vehicle is turning left. Cyclists are often harder to see which means there’s a higher chance of a collision.

Accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists poses a higher risk for serious or fatal injuries. In luckier cases, victims have been left shaken up with only a few cuts, grazes and bruises.

If you or a loved one have had an accident as a pedestrian or cyclist, we would like to hear about it. Our panel of solicitors are experienced in handling these cases and may be able to assist you in making a claim for compensation.
